Central Bank: Resources and raw material to be priority
The Central Bank of Iceland has confirmed the importance for industries in Iceland to get resources and raw material. The bank stated it as priority in a reply to the Federation of Icelandic Industries´s request regarding the rationing flow of foreign currency.
The Bank´s letter is dated October 16th, 2008.
The Federation urges it´s members to contact their commercial banks and point out the understanding of the Central Bank. Members are however reminded that foreign currency is scarce and therefore important that import is restricted to necessities at this time.
